30,000 MUSICIANS NOW USING EVENTFUL DEMAND
LEADING EVENTS SITE HELPS ARTISTS, MUSIC MANAGERS AND LABELS SHAPE TOURS AND CONNECT WITH FANS
San Diego, Calif. – November 14, 2007 – Eventful Inc., the leading global events Web site, today announced a key milestone of working with more than 30,000 musicians, including prominent and up-and-coming artists. Eventful’s Demand service helps performers plan tours and appearances, based upon where their fans want them to perform.
All of the major music labels, including Capitol / EMI, Sony BMG, Universal and Warner Bros., use Eventful’s unique Demand service, empowering fans to influence where their favorite artists tour. In addition to the major labels, Eventful works with dozens of Indie labels including Fearless Records, Century New Media and Nettwerk.
Eventful has become one of the most effective ways for performers and labels to communicate with fans. Artists and labels obtain valuable data concerning the location and demographics of fans who want to see the artists perform live. In addition, they use Eventful’s contact management system to communicate with more than five million fans in targeted geographic locations to announce events and market music and related merchandise.
Eventful Demand is a viral service that has transformed the way that audiences interact with performers, empowering fans to directly influence where events take place. The service enables fans to “Demand” their favorite musicians to come to their town and enables performers to make informed decisions about where to tour based on where their fans want them to play. Every month, more than 3,000 artists sign-up for Eventful Demand free of charge, at www.eventful.com/learn.
Artists promote the service to their fans through a variety of online touch points including MySpace, Facebook, artist and label Web sites, fan-sites and Demand competitions. Labels and artists have increasingly used Demand competitions to let fans decide which cities, colleges and high schools are included on a tour.
Recent Eventful Demand competitions include rapper Talib Kweli, who added five colleges to his recent tour based on which schools demanded him most and rising country star Lori McKenna, who used Eventful Demand as part of her gig supporting Faith Hill and Tim McGraw on their massively popular Soul2Soul Tour. Other well-known artists using Eventful Demand include: 50 Cent, The Cure, Hinder, Tim McGraw and ‘High School Musical’ star, Ashley Tisdale.
Quote from Nichol Carlson, vice president, tour marketing, at SonyBMG: “The viral nature of the Web is becoming an increasingly important component of our promotional campaigns. Eventful Demand enables our artists to foster deeper engagement with their fans, empowering those fans to influence where they perform. Eventful is an essential part of our marketing tool kit for both leading and emerging artists.”
Quote from Deborah Klein, Firm Music general manager, at The Firm: “Eventful Demand is an accessible and effective way to build relationships between artists and fans, and it’s a crucial part of our strategy for breaking new acts and creating buzz. Often, fans also take to publicizing the artists themselves, by posting ‘Demand It’ stickers on various social networking sites. We use Eventful, Myspace, YouTube and iTunes to market our artists, and each service plays an important role in our online engagement with fans.”
Quote from Gavin Mikhail, independent recording artist: “Eventful is foremost among the tools I use in my marketing efforts, and to me, it represents the next logical step in the evolution of online marketing. For independent artists like myself, sites like MySpace are essential to finding and developing relationships with our fans. However, Eventful gives us something that has, to date, been missing from the process, which is discovering exactly where our fans are, and how many of them will come to a show. Eventful has transformed the way we plan my tours, and the way in which we approach club owners and promoters.”
Quote from Eventful CEO, Jordan Glazier: “We help strengthen the bonds between fans and performers and help artists, large and small, connect with their fans through live performances. We’re giving fans a real voice in influencing where their favorite musicians perform, and providing meaningful tools and services to performers and the music industry to help plan tours and communicate with fans.”
